New Pluralsight Course: What’s New in vSphere 6.5

I’m happy to announce that my latest site from Pluralsight has been released; What’s New in vSphere 6.5. I’m super excited about this course!

There are a ton of resources out there discussing everything that’s new and awesome with VMware’s latest release of their flagship product, vSphere 6.5. Here are just a few of many:

  • Brian Graf has a great 3-part series on vSphere DRS here
  • The good folks at vBrownBag also have a good collection of podcasts

There are plenty of others I haven’t mentioned, but just give it a Google and they’ll come right up 😉

When I started on the course, the main goals were to take everything that was new with vSphere 6.5, put it all in one place, make it easy to consume, and provide a basis for comparison from previous versions. Here’s are the major areas that are covered in the course:

  • vCenter
    • New Installer
    • vCenter HA
    • HTML5 Client
    • vCenter Backup/Restore
  • DRS & HA
    • Proactive HA
    • HA Admission Control Updates
    • Network-aware DRS
    • Predictive DRS
  • vSphere Storage
    • VMFS-6
    • NFS/iSCSI Updates
    • vSAN 6.5
  • vSphere Update Manager 6.5
  • vSphere Security
    • VM Encryption
    • Encrypted vMotion

If you have any feedback or comments on the course please feel free to leave a comment here, or, there is an area on for comments and course ratings.

    1. Post
  1. Josh, you may want to look at the post on linked in as it says that VMware vSphere is a highly used virtualization platform in the world. it should read is “the most” and not “is”
